Houses

(images can be enlarged by clicking on them)

1. The stucco? white house: I can see the box bein zinc and the walls being a scored concrete...painted and textured perhaps....so it won't come off as being too industrial and cold looking ?

2.
The massing reminds me of what we're doing for sunset...although there's a second story missing... but the tower etc...

3. white house with wood underneath.... would underneath works...nice and warm feel and not as exposed to the "elements" so that it doesn't deteriorate as fast.... Do you think if it was the wood textured concrete you would get the same feel?

4. Store front windows? i like the wood facade but this could easily be concrete with the wood texture from the forms....me thinks.

5.Finally: louvers... i think they're a great way to deal with privacy and sun.... although i'm not sure how long wood ones last.... I saw some done with reclaimed wood from wine barrels that were really nice. Need to hit up some texas winery to see what they have to offer.

P.S. Check out Syndecrete
Syndecrete is a sustainable/green, natural, cement-based composite that is half the weight and has twice the compressive strength of standard concrete. Offered in pre-cast pieces, Syndecrete’s unique aesthetic properties
include integral pigmentation and aggregates mixed to create distinctive color and texture palettes. It is more resistant to potential chipping and cracking than conventional concrete, tile and stone, and has a workability more akin to wood than cement-based products.

They have tiles, sinks, slabs and table tops.... slabs come in 8' x 30" x 2.5" (thick)- counter tops?
